Picture of Hope
What are the "Pictures of Hope"? This all started back in 1997 when the founder of Little Hearts needed to meet families who had a heart child with the same CHD as her son. She located nine other families and they later met a kids restaurant where she took a group photo of them. This photo gave her and so many others Hope that it was it named, the "Picture of Hope". The tradition continues on and the photo of ten kids has grown to over 100 each year!
Her son's story was recently written up on Boston Children Hospital's pediatric heart blog in honor of CHD Awareness Month. What an honor to have them contact us for a story!
At our annual picnic, we take three group photos. The Picture of Hope/HLHS (just of those born with HLHS), the Picture of Hope/CHD (all those born with a CHD), and the third photo taken of the heart-kid with their siblings. Enjoy our Pictures of Hope going back to 1997!
Our Pictures of Hope are taken by photographer and member, Bill Psolka.
