Little Hearts

Caroline

Caroline closed her eyes and passed into eternal life on March 8, 2005 with her parents and her loving family by her side after a valiant battle at the age of 6 years and 11 months. She overcame all odds by living longer than any of her doctors expected. Caroline exceeded her life expectancy because she was blessed with abundant and unconditional love from her family, friends, medical staff and teachers. She has forever left us with a permanent footprint of her life in our hearts, memories and souls.

Caroline was an independent, creative and a funny girl. She liked to spend her time working on crafts, drawing, coloring, watching videos and reading stories. She liked to dance, cook and learn from teachers. Her favorite color was yellow. Caroline enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward in celebrating her birthday parties with her friends even though she missed her birthday by one month.

Caroline had a zest for life and will be remembered not for the things she wasn't able to do but for the obstacles she overcame. Her spirit and memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends and all who she touched during her brief time on earth. She was an inspiration to all with her amazing strength and resilience.

We will never experience the things other parents could with their daughters such as a high school prom, graduation from college and our princess bride. Caroline was our future and now she is only our memory.

As we look at the clear night sky we wonder how Caroline's day was, how she looks today and is she being cared for by relatives that passed before her. But one thing is for sure - Caroline is our precious little angel. We will remember her to our last gasp of breath. On behalf of our daughter, who would wave and say "bye, bye, bye" - until we meet again.

Story by Caroline's parents, Marta & George - Connecticut
