Little Hearts

Haeleigh is my guardian angel. She was born September 24, 2006, 7lbs and 7oz. She had a smile that would light up an entire room. She had her first surgery a couple days after her birth. We are from Alabama and were flown by jet to Boston Children’s Hospital.

Haeleigh endure a lot to be so small. After her first surgery we able to transfer to UAB and from there she was able to come home. She was home for nearly three months and then it was time for her second surgery.

She had complications with her breathing after her surgery. She had a lot of fluid to build up on her lungs and had to have a stint put in. She eventually started having kidney failure as well. Haeleigh was by far one of the sickest babies they were treating they said. She was my angel.

She passed away at only nine months old on July 17, 2007. I am here to tell her story and the impact it had on my life.

Story by Haeleigh’s mom, Darvondra - Alabama
