Noah, born 2012Meet our brave little heart warrior, Noah! He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot when I was 19 weeks pregnant. Like most heart parents, my husband and I were heartbroken and shocked at the news. But our faith kept us optimistic and on July 28, 2012, Noah came into the world crying, breathing well, and at an excellent weight.
In October 2012, Noah underwent a full repair of Tetralogy of Fallot, at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. He recovered like a champ and has done exceptionally well since. We just celebrated Noah's 1st Birthday and you would never know he had open heart surgery. He runs full speed ahead, giggles and loves like crazy, and makes us love him more with every second. He just has a scar to show his journey. We know Noah will need one more heart surgery in his adult years to replace his pulmonary valve. We know he will have a life full of echocardiograms and EKGs, and that is just fine. Noah has shown us how to live and love more than we ever imagined. We know we have faith that can move mountains and has thus far. Though the experience has been an emotional roller-coaster at times, it has humbled and strengthened us. We have been fortunate to have met other heart families and look to meet, offer encouragement, hope and healing to others who may need it also.
