Autumn, 2008

Autumn, born 2008

My name is Jesica and I have a daughter named Autumn who was born October 24, 2008 at 1:19am. She weighed 8lbs12oz and was 21 1/4 inches long;she was perfect. At 5:00 am the same morning, the nurse came in and said the doctor needed to speak with me. I got up to see my beautiful baby inside an incubator with a cone thing over her head giving her oxygen. I've never been so scared in my life.

They diagnosed her with Double Outlet Left Ventricle and sent her to Texas Children Hospital where they diagnosed her with Double Inlet Left Ventricle, Pulmonary Atresia, Transposition of the Great Vessels, and left Pulmonary Artery Stenosis.

They said nothing I had done caused it and she would need three surgeries to help her live. They placed her on an IV medicine called prostaglandin to keep her alive until the first surgery. On November 5th, she had the first surgery where they put a shunt in the right side of her body. Her next surgery is set for April 21st.

She is our strong baby sent from Heaven and she is going to live a long happy life thanks to God and The blessed doctors at Texas Children Hospital.
