Dorian, 2015

Dorian, born 2015

In March 2015 I was told at my 20 week anatomy scan that all of my baby's heart could not be seen and was referred to a cardiologist who later confirmed the diagnosis of Pulmonary Atresia with Tricuspid Valve Disease. Despite, doctors suggesting to terminate my pregnancy, we choose to give our little boy a chance. I had a very easy and seemingly normal pregnancy. No one would have ever guessed our son had a heart defect.

He was born on July 14th 2015 by emergency C-section and at just 3 days old underwent his first open heart surgery, Starnes Procedure, without complications. He has proven to be such a strong little boy and I cannot imagine life without him. God has definitely had his hand on him. Dorian still has two more surgeries within the next few years but I know he will continue to be our little fighter.
