Hunter, 2006

Hunter, born 2006

Hunter was born on May 6, 2006 at a healthy 8lbs even. I was only able to take a quick peek at him before they took him away. Thankfully we knew ahead of time this was how it would be. At our 20 week ultrasound we were given the devastating news that he had a heart defect. We toured a couple of hospitals but when we visited CHOP we knew that was where we were going. They were amazing.

He had some slight complications at first but then had the BT surgery three days after he was born. Our brave little soldier did beautifully. They didn't even have to put him on a breathing machine. He was only on a feeding tube for one day, chest tube one or two days and umbilical cord line for a few days. Everyone there was so happy with his progress and we were home in 13 days!

It would of even been less time but they had to wait for the PDA to close. He is still doing fabulous. They told us to be prepared that he may not gain weight fast but he proved them wrong, weighing in at a whopping 13 pounds at eleven weeks of age.

He is such a sweet and happy little boy who we love with all our hearts.
