Sophia, 2007

Sophia, born 2007

Our daughter, Sophia, was diagnosed in-utero at 20 weeks with Pulmonary Atresia and at 32 weeks with Atrioventricular Septal Defect. It was a long scary pregnancy.

We were treated at Rush University in Chicago, IL. The doctors tried to prepare us for the worst. On January 31, 2007, three weeks before her due date, the doctors decided to do a c-section. She came out a beautiful 7lbs 5oz and as pink as can be. At birth, she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Atresia, ASD and a list of others that I couldn't tell you without looking at her medical records. Sophia's condition is inoperable and is being treated with medication. She is doing great. You'd never be able to tell anything is wrong with just looking at her. We try to live each and every day to the fullest. All of our prayers go out to all the other families.
