Tahlia, born 2015
I found out at my 20 week ultrasound that my baby’s heart beat was different. It was slow and very low rate so right there I also learned that if she survives she will need a pacemaker. Right away they diagnosed her with heart block. It was also the day I found out it was a girl. It was a bittersweet moment.
Tahlia was born on May 9, 2015 with third degree heart block as well as hydrops at 32 weeks. She had a pacemaker put in when she was nine days old.
She was seven weeks old and I couldn’t even breastfeed. Was a stressful first year her being my sick baby. She’s always been a noisy breather so we live off asthma pumps.
Today, she’s doing good. She is so special and I forget she has a CHD until she gets sick. I live In PA so the cold doesn’t help. I thank Hershey hospital so much.
